Young Entrepreneurs Awards
Organisation: Unilever partnering with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in collaboration with Ashoka Changemakers.

Programme Description
A competition is run, where 7 winners are selected and share a total of more than £200,000 (R3 600 000). They also receive individually tailored mentoring.
The seven finalists will take part in a four week online development programme followed by a two day accelerator workshop in Cambridge, UK.
Target Market
Youth under the age of 30, from any part of the world. They must seek to find solutions to issues in any one or more of these categories:
· Improving health and wellbeing;
· Reducing environmental impact; and
· Enhancing livelihoods.

Entry for applications opens in June and close in August of the following year.
Success Stories
These are some of the winners of previous competitions:
i. Gamal Albinsaid from an Indonesian organisation known as Indonesia Medika, runs a project called Garbage Clinical Insurance. Community members collect their waste and dispose it at Indonesia Medika. In exchange for this, they receive free healthcare.
ii. Manuel Wiechers from a Mexican company known as ILUMEXICO provides solar powered home systems in rural communities.
iii. Isabel Medem who runs a project called x-runner venture in Lima, Peru. It provides responsible sanitation to those urban households that do not have water reticulation systems. The project involves provision of a dry toilet, and collection of waste from these households, and turning the waste into compost.
