Programme Description

There are four funding windows available in this programme that is:
  • Enterprise Development
  • Infrastructure Investment
  • Support for Work Seekers
  •  Institutional Capacity Building.
 
The funds are in the form of grants that are available in the following matching ratios:
1:1 for the private sector, and 0.2:1 for the non-private sector. There are also different minimum contribution limits set per sector.

Application Conditions

The applicants must demonstrate potential for growth and job creation.
Project targets and milestones will be clearly defined at the inception of the project. Dedicated project monitoring and evaluation capacity will be allocated per project and disbursements are linked to project targets being achieved. National Treasury reserves the right to reclaim funds if misused.  
  

Application Process

The Jobs Fund will issue an open call for proposals once or twice in a year, and applicants can respond.
 

Success Stories
  1. The Akwandze Agricultural Finance contributed R75 000 000 while The Jobs Fund contributed R50 000 000 to a project for small scale sugarcane growers that will result in the creation of 1 511 permanent jobs and increased production levels from 450 000 tons per annum to 850 000 tons per annum. The farmers are located in Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal.
  2. The Hot Dog Café will establish 62 new outlets over the next three years for the previously disadvantaged youths. They received grant funding of R17.23 million, and they put in an amount of R18.60 million into the project.
  3. CuraFin Manco, received R48 million while they put in R61.46 million to expand their owner driver programme. They seek to establish 170 owner driver businesses, creating 367 permanent jobs in the process.
