Programme Description
Participants undergo a business plan competition. The successful entrepreneurs go through an ongoing mentorship process. Citi Bank works with Technoserve in a programme called Accelerating Urban Women and Youth Entrepreneurship in South African Metros (AUWESAM).

Success Stories
i. Lesiba Chuene inherited Mogodi Bricks and Sands which manufactures bricks and supplies sand, concrete and bricks from his father. At a time when the business was facing a financial crisis, Lesiba won R35 000 from the business plan competition. He also won R280 000 from the Branson School Entrepreneurship business plan competition. He was able to purchase machinery, and now employs 27 individuals, up from an initial 13.
ii. Gaynor Francke won the business competition in 2008. She started off with 1 lodge in Saldhana Bay that year, but now she owns 5 tourism properties. She is benefitting from the support that she continues to receive from Technoserve.
