Programme: Sefa Direct Lending Products Term Lending

Programme Description

Loans that are repayable over between 1 and 5 years are available. The loans must be used to finance assets that have a medium to long term lifespan. The amounts range from R50 000 to R 5 million


Target Market

Registered companies, Start ups and Trusts.

The applicant must operate within any of sefa’s priority areas which include green industries, agricultural value chain, manufacturing, small mining value chain, tourism, information technology as well as retail and wholesale of products.

If the applicant is a Trust, it must have within its trust deed, powers to borrow money and pledge assets as security and to give surety for borrowing


Application Process

The applicant must approach any sefa offices where an initial assessment will be carried out.


Success Stories

i.            Mr Wilson Khetisa Matete is the owner of BBT Construction, an electrical, plumbing, construction and maintenance company. In 2012, he received a R3million bridging loan from the Bloemfontein regional office. This enabled him to fulfil some tenders that he had been awarded. He has since managed to repay the loan, and his company is experiencing growth and he has been able to purchase more equipment, create more jobs and up skill his workers.

ii.            Mudzhadzhi Mmagongwana Joint Venture (MMJV) is a Burgersfort based construction joint venture between Mudzhadzhi Building Contractors and Mmagongwana General Construction that has benefited from a bridging loan facility of R3million from sefa. MMJV has undertaken large projects in Limpopo, including the development of a school in Serafa Village in Burgersfort for which the funding was used.
