Programme Description
 
Hack.Jozi is an entrepreneurship competition run by the City of Johannesburg. The focus is on supporting businesses that use technology to innovatively solve everyday problems faced by Johannesburg and it citizens.  The competition has 4 categories: General, Economic Development, Public Spaces / Tourism and Smart Infrastructure.  Competition winners enjoy comprehensive support that includes funding, training, mentorship and incubation.
 

Target Market

  • Businesses / Entrepreneurs in the Start-up or Seed Stage
  • Business that have their operations (or a large part of their operations) within the City of Johannesburg
  • Businesses that develop digital solutions to innovatively solves problems
 

Application Process

Applicants must complete the application form provided on the Hack.Jozi website: http://hackjozichallenge.co.za/enter-hack-jozi-2016/

The following businesses won during inaugural Hack.Jozi competition in 2016:
