Programme: DTI Sector Specific Assistance Scheme

  •  Local advertising and publicity;
  • Marketing materials (export directories, CDs and brochures); and
  • Local exhibition assistance.
 

Programme Description

The programme includes an 80:20 cost sharing reimbursable grant as well as project funding for emerging exporters. It reimburses expenses associated with the development of exporters. The maximum allocation per project is R1.5 million. Travel and accommodation, transport of samples and marketing materials, exhibition costs are covered.

Application Process

All application forms should be submitted to the DTI Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) Administrators (via the DTI Customer Contact Centre).
Applicants to submit the application at least 2 months prior to project commencement
A product must have at least 35% local content to qualify
Minimum of 5  to a maximum of 20 entities
Only projects supported by Trade Investments South Africa’s Export Development unit (TISA)
Applicants are not permitted to apply for any additional funding (financial assistance) from any other government department including the DTI.
If the projects do not start within 3 months of the stated starting date, the commitments made by the DTI will be withdrawn.
Applicants may have to reimburse the DTI should they fail to achieve the milestones, amounts directly proportional to the set milestones.
