Programme: DTI Clothing and Textile Competitiveness Programme (CTCIP)
 
Organisation: Department of Trade and Industry, with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) managing the programme.
 

Type of Support
  • Funding.
 

Programme Description

Funding is available clusters of organisations as follows
  • For ordinary clusters: A cost sharing grant of 75: 25 up to a cumulative ceiling of R25 million over the period of the project implementation is available. The grant will not cover costs for machinery, equipment, commercial vehicles, land or buildings.
  • For National Clusters: 100% funding  for the first year, 95:5 for year 2,  90:10 in year 3, 80:20 in year 4 and 70:30 in year 5
 

Target Market

Clusters in the Clothing, Textile Footwear Leather and Leather Goods Industries
 

Application Conditions

The cluster should be a separate legal entity, registered as a not for profit organisation.
There must be designated Programme Administrator /Organisation whose role is to oversee the finances and balanced implementation of the programme.
A Memorandum of Agreement between the organisations in the cluster is also required at the application stage.
The cluster has to clearly differentiate itself from the individual companies that are represented, and must promote its own brand.
 

Application Process

A completed application form must be submitted to the CTCIP desk at the IDC.
