anglo american - dbsa sebenza fund

Programme Description

Loans at 6% interest rate, Zimele undertakes guarantees and ownership of assets until the loan is repaid.

Assistance with marketing the business to Anglo’s  business units specifically for supply linkages, market development and expansion

Success Stories

i.            Entrepreneur Andrew Aphane, who is a director and shareholder at Data Electrical Instrumentation (DEI) Projects, received funding from the Sebenza Fund and was able to fulfil his business ambitions. DEI has an annual turnover of R41 million and has created employment for 130 people, with 80% of its workforce being from the local community.

ii.            Lize Fouche received a loan of R4.8 million from the Sebenza fund. She was able to begin construction of a manufacturing plant, purchase equipment and start production of her muesli brand under her company, Number 1 Corporation. She looks forward to further growth and employs more than 180 people, up from the 66 individuals that she currently employs.
